William, Kyle, Briearnah and Robin are reading Black Gold. This is a place where we can talk about the book. We are also writing some questions to ask the boy in the cave. We don't know his name yet but we do know he has a scare in the shape of an 'X' on his back.

I have never heard of this book before but it look intriguing. I look forward to hearing all about it.

In the first 4 chapters it was pretty cool because at the start a boys friend wakes him up at 4 o'clock and they left to go on a fishing trip. When they got to the cave that they were planning on staying in, there was other peoples gear there. After a while they saw a boy with an 'X' scar on his back.
If I met the boy I would ask him what the people were doing to him, where did they find him and how did the people find the cave?
What I think will happen next in the book is the boys will call the police and send the men to jail for using the boy with the 'X' scar as a slave.

the book black gold is really cool.
there are two boys in this story, Rimu and Ollie go to the beach to go camping there. They walk along the beach to a cave that Rimu's dad always went to. they also took their dog ratty as well. they arrive at the cave and they find guns, wetsuits and a lit fire.
if I met the boy I would ask him what he and Ollie were thinking when they found the cave had men already in there ?
I would also ask him what he thought when he saw the X scar on the back of the man?
The dog saved one of the boys from being shot then drowned and Rimu and Ollie did CPR on the dog so he didn't die. I'm only up to page 91 and it's getting really exciting.
This story is about two boys going on a camping trip in a cave next to a beach. The main charaters are Rimu and Ollie there is also a dog called Ratty.
