Our Aesop's Fable Productions

During Term Two Room 8 formed movie companies.  Each company was commissioned to turn an Aesop's Fable into a script and then present it as a short film.  As discussed in an earlier posting we used High Five short stories as motivation for our presentations.  Our first company to complete their work was 'ROCK KIDS PRODUCTIONS LIMITED'. They presented 'The Shepherd and the Wolf.  The second company was 'BLUE DOLPHIN PRODUCTIONS' who presented 'The Lion and the Mouse'.

Learning Intentions:
Our main goal was to communicate the moral of the fable to our audience clearly.  We wanted to achieve this by having a script that made sense and then using our filming and acting skills effectively.  We were trying to make good use of voice, expression, actions and sound effects to support our message.

We would love to hear what you think about our short movie.

Hi Room 8

Wow, you have all obviously worked very hard on your Fable Short Movies.

The first movie, The Boy Who Cried Wolf, was very clear. I especially liked the Shepard's loud, expressive acting. Good job! Well done to you all on that one, you definitely made the moral clear.

The second movie, The Lion and the Mouse, was fantastic too. A little harder to hear and understand but I think you told the story well in a short amount of time. Keep up the good work guys.

I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Hi room 8.
We really enjoyed the Lion and the Mouse. Great use of sound effects to help enhance the production. Sometimes the voices were hard to hear but still great to see the efforts made and it was good to see something with a message behind it all that we can learn from. Keep up the good work!

Hi Room 8,

I watched both movies and was impressed with the effort you put into the movies and into the blog.
I hope you enjoyed making the movies and look forward to seeing more students participate.
I will keep checking your blog for new information.

Wow I liked the way you put the sound effects in. It must of taken a long time to make those costumes.

Hi Room 8

Room 15 here! We have just watched your two Aesop Fable movies - they were great!

'Shepherd Who Cried Wolf' production - we really liked your sound effects (especially the sheep sounds) and your acting. You spoke clearly with good volume so we could hear you and understand the story. Your credits at the end were clear and easy to read. We really understood the moral of the story.

'The Lion and the Mouse' - we liked your sound effects for the lion, and it was good to see you had props such as the rope that the lion was caught in. We liked that the mouse used a different voice to sound more like the real character. We thought that sometimes you could have added in more actions in the story. One thing to improve on next time would be thinking about the colour you use for the credits at the end - we found blue too hard to read.

Thank you very much for allowing us to see your movies, we look forward to seeing some more!!

Love from Room 15

Hi Simran,
You certainly did do an excellent job with your fable. I agree that you used good expression with you voice and also you face. I also was impressed with the music your group used. It linked well with what was happening in the story.
