Belling the Cat - A Room 8 Production

Room 8 has been reading and writing fables this term.  We will soon be filming our own original fables, but as a practice we have worked together and created a retelling of Aesop's Fable, 'Belling the Cat'.  We have made a few small creative changes to the script.

Our Learning Intention:
We are learning that writing and visual language has a message for its audience.  Have we clearly communicated the moral of this story?  'Easier Said than Done"

We would love you to leave your comments, letting us know what you think and how we could improve our work for when we produce our own short movies.

Our inspiration has come from High 5 and their stories.  We have been watching their retelling and looking for ideas that we can use in ours.

Hello Room 8! This is Room 15. We have just watched your production of 'Belling the Cat' and really enjoyed it.

We really liked the way that you memorised your lines and we thought that the crowd of mice acted well when they were talking and squeaking to eachother. It was a good idea to have the mice squeaking at different times throughout the story.

We liked the way that the main characters tried to use expression when they spoke. Keep working on this. We also really enjoyed the music that you added to the movie.

We thought your mouse hole was good too and we liked your mouse masks.

We thought that sometimes it was a bit hard to hear the speaker if the music was too loud so be careful about that. You made a good attempt at adding actions into the story, keep working on this for your next movies. One more thing to work on would be when you have a speaking part, slow down what you are saying so that we can understand it clearly.

Well done on a great movie! Good luck for your next movies that you make this term.

Hi there Room 8
You certainly are "The Gr8 Room 8"!! I loved watching your movie. The part I especially enjoyed was the way all the mice discussed with each other going "Squeak, squeak, squeak ..." I would love to come to your room to learn how to 'do' a blog, so could you invite me next time you are making one?
If I was the cat in your story I would be saying...
"What a Louse... Mouse!"
You rock Room 8

Hi Room 8

Wow, what a great page you have put together. We liked it so much, we made one of our own.

Your production of "Belling the Cat" was great. We loved the nice clear, loud voices. This shows you have been practising and were confident. Keep this up.

We look forward to future posts on your blog.

You guys rock.

Hi Room 8, I really like your Blog Page, I thought your 'Belling the Cat' production was great although sometimes I found it hard to hear what was being said because of the background music, but apart from that it was great.

I hope you don't mind but I have added a couple of mouse jokes....

Question: What are crisp, like milk and go 'eek, eek, eek' when you eat them?

Answer: Mice Krispies!

Question: What is small, furry and brilliant at sword fights?

Answer: A Mouseketeer!

Keep up the great work!
